The partner you pick matters more than the software. Two companies can install the same Odoo and get very different results. If you are planning an Odoo project in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam or anywhere in Saudi Arabia, these eight questions help you compare partners fairly.
1. Have you done ZATCA e-invoicing in Odoo?
Ask how they onboard journals to Fatoora, how they test in the simulation environment, and how they handle rejected invoices. A partner who has done it will answer in detail. Our ZATCA guide shows what a good answer looks like.
2. Do you know Saudi payroll?
If HR and payroll are in scope, ask about GOSI, WPS / Mudad files and end-of-service benefits. See our Saudi payroll guide.
3. Can I speak to a client in my industry?
Case studies are good; a short call with a past client is better. Ask for one in a similar industry and size.
4. Is the partner listed by Odoo?
Official partners appear on odoo.com in the partner directory. Check the listing yourself and look at their level and published references.
5. Who will actually work on my project?
Ask to meet the consultant and developer, not only the salesperson. Check that they can work Saudi business hours and handle Arabic documents and screens.
6. How is the price built?
Fixed-price, hourly or a dedicated team can all work. What matters is that the scope is written down, milestones are clear and changes have an agreed rate. Our Odoo cost guide explains the usual ranges.
7. What happens after go-live?
Ask for the support plan in writing: hours included, response time and who you call when something breaks at month end.
8. Who owns the code and the data?
You should. Custom modules should be delivered to your own repository or Odoo.sh project, with documentation.
