UAE e-invoicing 2026–2027: what it means for Odoo users

The UAE’s e-invoicing mandate starts with a pilot in July 2026. Here are the dates, the Peppol model and how to prepare your Odoo system.

The UAE is moving B2B invoices from PDFs to structured electronic invoices exchanged through accredited service providers on a Peppol-based network.

Key dates

  • 1 July 2026: pilot with selected companies
  • 1 January 2027: businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more (service provider appointed by 31 July 2026)
  • 1 July 2027: businesses below AED 50 million (service provider appointed by 31 March 2027)
  • 1 October 2027: government entities

What changes

Invoices must be issued as structured XML following the PINT AE specification and sent through an accredited service provider. A standard tax invoice has 51 mandatory data fields, so clean master data matters.

How to prepare Odoo

  1. Check customer and supplier data: TRNs, addresses, legal names
  2. Review products, units of measure and tax codes
  3. Remove custom invoice changes that bypass standard fields
  4. Choose an accredited service provider and plan the connection
  5. Test with real invoices before your go-live date
